Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start. In case you need a bit of mood booster for Monday blues, I have a quick project to share with you. We are celebrating a brand-new release for May and you are going to love it!
Altenew just released a new set of stamp sets and die sets. Some are coordinating dies and some are stand-alone dies! You are going to find at least 1-2 products that you fall in love with, so make sure to check out the full release HERE.
I am joining a fun release blog hop to provide some project ideas using the new release products. For those that love clean and simple cards, today’s project would be right up on your alley!
There are various ways to color in the outline stamp images when creating projects. Colored pencils and watercolors have been so popular in cardmaking world, and I wanted to try something different. Not to long ago I came across a new-to-me coloring medium, pastel pencils.
Patel pencils allow us to create a well-blended look effortlessly. You can press the pencil as hard as you want, or as light as you like to add a various degree of textures and lines. I find it much easier to blend colors if I lay down all of them at once and blend them together. But, you might find that different methods work better for you. So I encourage you to practice and try variations of blending when working with this medium.
Today’s card features one of my favorite stamps from the release, Crown Bloom. The large petals of the flower make it so easy to create focal points. You can easily layer the images together to create a cool flower arrangement, or color the outline images like I did here.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project I prepared to share! Join me in the conversation below – have you ever used pastel pencils? What do you like and don’t like about them? If you are new to them, would you want to give them a try?
