**VIDEO** Inklips 1000 Subscribers Blog Hop!

November 7, 2015

Hello and welcome back! Today I am participating on a very special blog hop for Simon Hurley over at Inklips. He is 13 years old with an amazing cardmaking and stamping skills. I love when younger generations join our crafting community and share handmade cards and love! So, Simon just hit 1000K subscribers on his youtube channel, which is a great milestone! So we are celebrating today by joining together on a blog hop.

unnamed

If you are hopping along already, you probably came from Laura’s blog. If you are just starting with me, no worries, keep hopping along with us until you make it to the full circle. You can find the full hop list on the bottom of this post.

Today I am going out of my comfort zone with color combinations and trying some different colors together; gray and green. Let’s see how it turned out!

So this color combination has been stuck in my head for a while. I love gray when I use with blue color family, but not for the flower much. It kinda reminds me of sad occasions. So I thought I would turn it around and make it in to a nice, elegant thank you card!

The stamp set I used today is from Winnie & Walter called Elsa’s Flora. This is one of their newest release which I am in love. I am also sharing more inspiration over at my online class and we just started a class focusing on this release. I really hope you will check it out and join us!

When doing the technique I am sharing today, make sure to do it with small amount of water. If you add too much water, you end up mushing all the color layers together and there won’t be any definitions left.

IMG_1755

For the sentiment I used Thanks die from W&W as well. Just popped it out with some foam tape, dressed it up with few clear sequins and the card is done!

I hope you enjoyed my creations today and take some time this weekend to do some watercoloring. Don’t forget to check out Simon’s blog for fun giveaways!! Next stop on the hop is my good friend Laurel Beard. Let’s see what she has created for us!

Thanks for the video – I would not have guessed it was so easy to make. It turned out beautifully – love the stamps you chose!

I love wearing gray with different colors but haven’t thought to use that combo on a card but this is so pretty.

I absolutely love that color combination! I’m so glad you stepped out of your comfort zone! And I’m really happy to see you supporting such a fine, young talent as Simon. In addition, I also want you to know how much I really appreciate your videos. I really enjoyed the classes you did or Altenew !

Happy Holidays and for those who are celebrating, Merry Christmas- Many of us are spending today in an unusual way this year, and many of us are also remembering those we lost. I ask that you keep others in your thoughts this holiday season 💕 sending hugs and loves to your way ❤️❤️

Made cookies and cheesecake brownies for our next door neighbors who are spending today alone. I added a little touch with stamps and inks to dress up the cookie boxes 🎁

Happy view 🥰🥰 New ink storage system for my office/studio desk. I wanted the most used inks right at my fingertips and these Alex drawers hold them perfectly. I am keeping both full sized and cubes together, along with 1 mini cube blending tool for each color family. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #scrapsandstamps #inkstorage #craftroom #craftroomorganization #homestudio
Good morning and happy Saturday lovlies!! 👋🏻👋🏻 I just realized my last post about 3-4 months ago was a glance at my studio. Lots of things happened in the past few months and Ive been just too stressed out that I lost my desire to craft. 😣Its been a rough yr for everyone and Im ready for a new start! 😍 Are you?? Im going to start working towards getting some routines where I can feel better and add creativity back to life. Why wait till Jan? We can start now 💕

I just moved and finally got around to finishing up my studio. Im such a perfectionist that it took me a while to get everything where I wanted. 😅 Im happy how it turned out and grateful that I can still have a place to work and craft. Im excited to share projects with you soon 🥰🥰🥰

Took a couple of days off this week to recharge - mental break helps a lot! 👍🏻 While I enjoyed stay-home break, I finished swatching all of #danielsmithwatercolors - now I’ll build my own palette from these and start doing some watercolor with them. Seeing all these made me really happy 🥰🥰 Swatching watercolors are one of my fav ways to distress. What creative projects are you working on this weekend?? #watercolorswatches #watercolor #danielsmithwatercolor #danielsmithartistsmaterials #colorswatches
Hello, beautiful! I decided to do something new and challenging during this #stayathome time. Took a beginner calligraphy class by @piecescalligraphy and I cant believe how fast 90min went by!! 😍😍 I have a lot of practice to do but really enjoyed learning. These are some of the things we did. My p’s are pretty horrible 😂😂 Cant wait for the next session!

Happy Monday everyone- 💕💕 I was itching for a change so the other day I moved things around a bit in my studio. (This happens more often than not 😂) Even just a tiny bit of change can bring a big difference and give a fresh feel to your daily norm. Controlling what we can and not losing hope 🙏🏻 I wish you a fabulous and lovely week ahead 💙

More therapeutic watercoloring session - I find taking the time to color each image with watercolor really helps me to relax. I think it has to do with a slow moving, soft transition of the pigments and water.

This card was made using a brand new #altenewstatementflowers stamp set and #altenewspringgarden
