Happy Thursday – Weekend is just around the corner! To cheer you up, I am back with another brand-new card for 2014 Holiday Card Series. We are on Day 6 today – half way to the series already – but I will be sharing more Christmas cards after the series ends so do not feel sad! Anyways, let’s dive into today’s video tutorial first and I will share more pics and short details below.
If you haven’t tried WOW Embossing Powder’s clear background stamp set, you need to make sure check out their collections and grab some of them. They are fun and they stamp really well. Here I used Blizzard stamp set for the card. I usually like to put my paper on top of the stamp to get the impression when I use background stamp sets – I found this is the best way to get a crisp, clear image. To go along with the image, I used Clear Gloss and Clear Sparkle Embossing Powders. Sparkle and shine is today’s theme.
I love traditional holiday colors, but I am in LOVE with grey, blue, and mint shades for holiday cards. There is just something about them that makes me want to keep using these colors! Mama Elephant just released 16 brand-new pigment ink colors and they include some of my favorite shades. Pigment inks are perfect for blending and heat embossing – I grabbed few colors to do some heat embossing resist background for today’s card. Here I used Dark Storm, Smoke, Rainwater, and Stargaze. (Even their names are so cool) You can see how I created this look in the video above.
Perfect sentiment for this card came from Mama Elephant’s Winter Wonderland. I simply stamped it with MFT’s Black Licorice Hybrid Ink Pad. I hope your holiday will sparkle and shine!
