Hello there! Happy Friday!
The very first projects I created for the new year are two simple yet classy looking cards featuring simple cardmaking techniques. The techniques may not be new, but they showcase lovely, brand-new products you won’t want to miss.
Altenew released its first stamp/die products for 2020 and the line up is just amazing. From solid images to watercolored looks to beautiful layering, there is something for everyone. When I saw the designs for this month’s release, I immediately was drawn to these two stamps: Mod Vases and Vase Fillers.
These stamps may be simple solid stamps, but they offer such a variety where you can mix and match different designs to create endless possibilities of elegant floral arrangements!
Mod vase stamp set is really cool where it gives just a simple stamp layering yet it gives enough layer to add the perfect amount of depth on your projects. The first card I created here showcases the vase stamped in a lighter blue shade for the 1st layer, and a darker blue shade for the 2nd layer.
I stamped the filler images from the Vase Filler stamp set and heat embossed in gold to create some timeless feel on the card. Blue and gold is a perfect combination to create some modern look in my opinion.
The sentiment was stamped in a dark purple and I splattered some silver metallic pigments to add a bit more shine and interest to the card.
The 2nd project was definitely made to create a very modern vase look, with a black body and a gold bottom. The photo above is a little funky (I am still working on getting the right light at my new studio) but in person, it just looks stunning!
I used a different shaped vase from the Mod Vases stamp set and stamped the first later in black and heat embossed the second layer in gold.
The fillers were stamped in light blue and light purple to add some color and contrast on the card.
I stamped the sentiment in navy blue and splattered gold pigment to match the gold heat embossing of the vase.
I hope you enjoyed the projects I’ve shared today. I hope to be back real soon with a new video tutorial!
