Baked Brown Suger, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Strawberry Slush… All these new colors are so mouth watering… (mmmm slush.. don’t you think?)
Those yummy colors are the 2013-2015 In Colors, they are very trendy and sassy so you can wow anyone with projects using these colors. Today, I wanted to share my input on those new colors, when they are compared to our regular color families.
First Up! Baked Brown Sugar – It is one level lighter than our Soft Suede from the Neutral collection (bottom cardstock). The lighting for this picture wasn’t super great, but if you look at the bottom of the card where it meets the Soft Suede cardstock, you will notice the difference.
Next up is Coaster Cabana, compared to Pool Party from the Subtle collection. Pool party is very light and blueish while Coaster Cabana is more greenish and blueish at the same time. It is also one level darker.
Third one is Crisp Cantaloupe! Compared color is our beloved Coral Calypso, which is from the Subtles collection as well. Crisp Cantaloupe is one level lighter and softer. Colorwise they are pretty close, I would say. (One a side note – Coral Calypso would work great with our Coaster Cabana.)
I am not a big Pistachio fan (I would eat them, but won’t go out looking for them), but I am in love with our Pistachio Pudding. Compared color is Pear Pizzaz, which is a brought back color to the Subtles collection. I am not super happy with the lighting with this picture, but Pistachio Pudding is much lighter and softer. You can say that Pistachio Pudding is like a soft pastel version of Pear Pizzaz, with more white in it.
Last but not least… Strawberry Slush! This is probably my favorite name of all the new In Colors, just because I always get strawberry slush from the store. I compared it with our Primrose Petals from the 2012-2014 In Colors. Strawberry Slush is brighter and stronger in color. Melon Mambo is more intense in the color and Rose Red has more purple color compare to Strawberry Slush.
Hope my own input gave you some idea of what the colors look like! Best way to see yourself is of course buying them and playing with them with your own two hands!
