As the weather is getting warmer and warmer (almost too hot sometimes!), lots of different flowers are blooming and adding lots of colors all around us. Altenew’s May release perfectly reflects those pretty flowers in my opinion. With more layering stamps, wonderful sentiment sets, and coordinating dies, your crafting time for May will be more fun!

I am so excited to be participating in this blog hop to celebrate the latest release. And I will be sharing one of my favorite techniques of all time – watercolor stamping. This is perfect for when you are short on time but want watercolor effect on your projects.

All you need to create this effect is your favorite water-based dye ink and clean water mist. Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks are perfect for layering images and they are water based, so I thought it was a perfect combination of both for today’s card.

One of many questions I get is how to get a smooth stamping impression – I talk about stamping season in the video tutorial above so make sure to check it out!

I used one of my new all time favorite for this card – Painted Rose stamp set is really a great one to use with this technique. You can create nicely blended watercolor look with different layers and color shades.

This card was made for one of the teachers I work with and she will be retiring after this year, so I wanted to create something simple yet elegant card to give with a small gift. The result was a perfect satisfaction in my opinion. What do you think?
