**VIDEO+GIVEAWAY** Dye Ink + Pigment Ink Stamping

May 9, 2019

Happy Thursday! A combination of dye inks and pigment inks are not a common go-to method I reach for often, but today’s project provided a perfect canvas for it and I am excited to share it with you.

Altenew just release a set of stamps, dies, stencils, enamel pins, and pigment inks! There are lots to choose from and I will be sharing one of my favorite stamps from this release along with new pigment inks for today’s project.

Less is definitely more in today’s card and I wanted to share a project you can quickly put together while achieving a beautiful, sophisticated look.

Blue with gold is one of my favorite color combos – a splash of gold on blue shades are so soft, feminine, and elegant. I wanted to showcase exactly that on the card above.

The Ornate Foliage stamp set can look intimidating, but it is very fun and straightforward to layer and fill in the outlines. You can also use the outline image alone to color with your coloring mediums, but the fill-in images are so easy and quick to complete the look.

For today’s blue combination, I am using Lapis Lazuli ink color with a hint of Antique Gold pigment ink. I am sharing my thoughts on the best way to stamp with pigment ink in the video tutorial above if you’d like to check out.

The crisp black outline image was stamped using the Obsidian pigment ink – it is fast trying black pigment ink perfect for all stamping needs, and it’s watercolor friendly and heat-embossable.

You can also try mixing in a red color family for this look, or even purple color family for more of a retro look. The possibilities are truly endless and totally up to your personal taste!

I made this for my mom for Mother’s day, so I chose a sweet sentiment from Mother’s Love stamp set.

Beautiful card Nicole! Your video tutorial was excellent and had such great tips about using pigments inks, I think you are totally right about them squishing out the sides and your tip about using an acrylic stamping block is a great way to solve that, I will be trying that. I love the blues you used with the gold, such a gorgeous combination. Thank you for the excellent tutorial and inspiration!

May the new year is a much brighter and happier one for all of us- Happy New Year πŸ’•

Happy Holidays and for those who are celebrating, Merry Christmas- Many of us are spending today in an unusual way this year, and many of us are also remembering those we lost. I ask that you keep others in your thoughts this holiday season πŸ’• sending hugs and loves to your way ❀️❀️

Made cookies and cheesecake brownies for our next door neighbors who are spending today alone. I added a little touch with stamps and inks to dress up the cookie boxes 🎁

Happy view πŸ₯°πŸ₯° New ink storage system for my office/studio desk. I wanted the most used inks right at my fingertips and these Alex drawers hold them perfectly. I am keeping both full sized and cubes together, along with 1 mini cube blending tool for each color family. β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ #scrapsandstamps #inkstorage #craftroom #craftroomorganization #homestudio
Good morning and happy Saturday lovlies!! πŸ‘‹πŸ»πŸ‘‹πŸ» I just realized my last post about 3-4 months ago was a glance at my studio. Lots of things happened in the past few months and Ive been just too stressed out that I lost my desire to craft. 😣Its been a rough yr for everyone and Im ready for a new start! 😍 Are you?? Im going to start working towards getting some routines where I can feel better and add creativity back to life. Why wait till Jan? We can start now πŸ’•

I just moved and finally got around to finishing up my studio. Im such a perfectionist that it took me a while to get everything where I wanted. πŸ˜… Im happy how it turned out and grateful that I can still have a place to work and craft. Im excited to share projects with you soon πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Took a couple of days off this week to recharge - mental break helps a lot! πŸ‘πŸ» While I enjoyed stay-home break, I finished swatching all of #danielsmithwatercolors - now I’ll build my own palette from these and start doing some watercolor with them. Seeing all these made me really happy πŸ₯°πŸ₯° Swatching watercolors are one of my fav ways to distress. What creative projects are you working on this weekend?? #watercolorswatches #watercolor #danielsmithwatercolor #danielsmithartistsmaterials #colorswatches
Hello, beautiful! (Yes, you!) ❀️ Spring (or summer) floral wreath 🌼🌺 - created effortlessly with brand new stamp from #altenew πŸ’• sending early summer warmth to your way, hope you are having a great week! πŸ₯°πŸ₯° #scrapsandstamps #handmadecards #handmade #cardmaking #layeredstamping #altenewblossomwreath
I decided to do something new and challenging during this #stayathome time. Took a beginner calligraphy class by @piecescalligraphy and I cant believe how fast 90min went by!! 😍😍 I have a lot of practice to do but really enjoyed learning. These are some of the things we did. My p’s are pretty horrible πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Cant wait for the next session!

#calligraphy #brushlettering #handlettering
Happy Monday everyone- πŸ’•πŸ’• I was itching for a change so the other day I moved things around a bit in my studio. (This happens more often than not πŸ˜‚) Even just a tiny bit of change can bring a big difference and give a fresh feel to your daily norm. Controlling what we can and not losing hope πŸ™πŸ» I wish you a fabulous and lovely week ahead πŸ’™

More therapeutic watercoloring session - I find taking the time to color each image with watercolor really helps me to relax. I think it has to do with a slow moving, soft transition of the pigments and water.
