**VIDEO+GIVEAWAY** 2 Color Blending with Watercolor Brush Markers

January 10, 2019

Happy New Year! I hope you are having a great start to the new year and are ready to get crafty with me this year! Today I am sharing a tip on getting an easy color blending when coloring with watercolor brush markers.Β

Altenew just released its 2nd watercolor brush marker set – Winter Wonderland. So for today’s project, I used a couple of colors from the set to create a nicely blended look on a stamped image.

Before we get into the photos of the project, I do have a step by step video tutorial to share, so sit back, relax and enjoy the video tutorial.

Watercolor brush markers are so much fun and easy to use when coloring, especially if you are a beginner. Their synthetic rea-brushlike brushes offer lots of flexibility when coloring with other colors or when used with clean water.

This card features Build-A-Flower: Poppy Set which was released last December. Its outlines and detailed images are perfect to be colored on using the watercolor markers so I decided to go with this.

I chose 2 colors from the set, Rouge and Ruby Red to add a hint of peach and red tones to these flowers. The 1st image I colored one (the top one) uses less water and the 2nd one (the bottom one) uses more water. You can easily control the intensity of the colors when using these markers with water.

Rest of the card was put together pretty easily, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set using the gold embossing powder on black cardstock to create a contrast to the brightly colored flowers.

Before adhering everything to the card base, I took out Jet Black Ink Spray and added splatters to create some simple interest on the background. Little goes a very long way, so you only need to tab a couple of times.

Do you have a favorite color from the Winter Wonderland set? Tell me your picks by commenting below, you will automatically be entered into giveaways!

Good morning and happy Saturday lovlies!! πŸ‘‹πŸ»πŸ‘‹πŸ» I just realized my last post about 3-4 months ago was a glance at my studio. Lots of things happened in the past few months and Ive been just too stressed out that I lost my desire to craft. 😣Its been a rough yr for everyone and Im ready for a new start! 😍 Are you?? Im going to start working towards getting some routines where I can feel better and add creativity back to life. Why wait till Jan? We can start now πŸ’•

I just moved and finally got around to finishing up my studio. Im such a perfectionist that it took me a while to get everything where I wanted. πŸ˜… Im happy how it turned out and grateful that I can still have a place to work and craft. Im excited to share projects with you soon πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Took a couple of days off this week to recharge - mental break helps a lot! πŸ‘πŸ» While I enjoyed stay-home break, I finished swatching all of #danielsmithwatercolors - now I’ll build my own palette from these and start doing some watercolor with them. Seeing all these made me really happy πŸ₯°πŸ₯° Swatching watercolors are one of my fav ways to distress. I decided to do something new and challenging during this #stayathome time. Took a beginner calligraphy class by @piecescalligraphy and I cant believe how fast 90min went by!! 😍😍 I have a lot of practice to do but really enjoyed learning. These are some of the things we did. My p’s are pretty horrible πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Cant wait for the next session!

Happy Monday everyone- πŸ’•πŸ’• I was itching for a change so the other day I moved things around a bit in my studio. (This happens more often than not πŸ˜‚) Even just a tiny bit of change can bring a big difference and give a fresh feel to your daily norm. Controlling what we can and not losing hope πŸ™πŸ» I wish you a fabulous and lovely week ahead πŸ’™

More therapeutic watercoloring session - I find taking the time to color each image with watercolor really helps me to relax. I think it has to do with a slow moving, soft transition of the pigments and water.
