Hello, all! I hope you are ready for some serious inspiration overload today. Altenew just released awesome stamp sets and new paper collection and this blog hop will offer lots of tips, techniques, and inspiration for you. You probably came from May’s blog – I am so glad you are here!
There are 10 brand-new stamp sets and wonderful new paper lines to check out in this release. Please see the bottom of the post to check out the full list! I will walk you through each stamp image in the video tutorial below as well so you can check those out.
Foiling has been getting a lot of attention in the crafting world this year and I was a bit hesitant to give it a try. I finally stepped into the foiling world and decided to pair it up with one of the brand-new, beautiful stamp sets from Altenew.
As you can see above, Altenew’s pink/red color family can be paired nicely with any gold foils. For this card, I used Rose Gold Deco Foil. Oh and I got the Minc couple weeks ago and they make foiling so easy!!
I couldn’t pass up playing with blue colors for another card. This time I paired it with Silver Deco Foil as the last layer of the bird. Blue and silver are my favorite colors to pair.
To add some light background that won’t take away attention from the birds, I added a bit of splatters on the white space of the card. As you can see, various sized splatters can add wonderful effects on any cards.
You can easily add splatters by tapping over any spray mist nozzles as they work best for this technique. However, if you do not have any mists or spray stains on hand you can easily use your watercolor mediums or ink pads by mixing the pigments with clean water and soak up those with brush. Tap the brush over the card layer and you will be able to create the same look!
You can foil easily with a laminator if you do not have the Minc machine. I recommend checking out the Minc though, since it will provide you evenly distributed heat.
Foiling stamped images with clear embossing powder or bonding powder can be a bit different than foiling toner printed images. So I encourage you to play and experiments with different heat settings to see what will give you the best results.
