Hello, there! As the summer is ending soon, the weather is cooling down in lots of places – but in California, we are still enjoying warm weathers. So I’ve been playing with some cool colors for the past few days in my studio and I am happy to share my recent project!
If you want something bold and big, yet want some details on your cards I highly recommend playing with the Spring Daisy stamp set. These images are perfect for layering, watercoloring, and more!
I wanted to create something really simple and bold, so I went with a couple of outlined images from the set and did watercolor. For the background, I wanted something really light and washed out look, so I used the Weathered Wood Distress Ink and did a 2nd generation stamping. (If you do not know what this is, make sure to watch the video tutorial above!)
The pictures don’t do the justice, but for these watercolored and die cut pieces, I added some sparkles using the Clear Sparkle Brush Pen. I think this is so far my favorite glitter pen, even more so than the Wink of Stella. Great value and lots of sparkles!!
For the sentiment, I went with the handwritten style of a greeting from the Act of Kindness stamp set and stamped it with a dark and bold purple ink. I thought it would match the purple colored flowers perfectly.
Playing with these cool colors definitely cooled me down from a hot summer weather! Hope you enjoy your last bit of summer!
