Hello! Watercoloring has been my go-to technique recently. I can’t seem to get enough of it! Ever since I get the Hummingbirds Stamp Set from Inspired By Stamping I wanted to color this cool bird image. Hummingbird is my mom’s favorite bird so I wanted to get some practice done before making her birthday card.

Today I am playing with few of Distress Inks and Makers. I love using these products because they are very easy to work with and are so forgiving them it comes to watercoloring. I used Distress Inks first to lay down base colors and went back to the image with Distress Markers to add some defined edges and lines.

I think I am going to practice technique again, with this one I couldn’t get the hummingbird right to my linking. I will share another video using the same technique in couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy the video tutorial above!

  1. Beautiful watercoloring Nichol. My favorite bird is the hummingbird also, the ruby throated one and I love the lilacs you painted. Nice work.
