Hello! One of many questions I get from you guys is how to create elegant cards with minimal supplies. So today, I thought I’d share a tutorial showing exactly this!
I am playing with some new goodies from Spellbinders to create an elegant focal point for a card. I fell in love the moment I saw this Sparrow stamp & die set by Stephanie Low, and knew exactly what I wanted to do!
You can see how this card comes together in a very simple & quick way in the video tutorial below.
Since these images are very detailed, embossing them with super fine embossing powders does a perfect job capturing every line and give a boost with the gold. This makes not only a great card for females but also makes a perfect one for males in your life!
When creating a focal point with a lot of details, you want to keep the background really subtle and soft. Doing a tone to tone background stamping is a great way to add interest behind your focal point elements while setting a tone for your projects. I used a light gray cardstock and ink pad for the background.
I hope you give this a try! This technique is a great one to try especially if you are just getting into cardmaking!
