Hello! For the past few weeks I spotted few cards with cool bokeh effect. So for today’s card I thought I would share how to create a bokeh background using few inks and stamp sets. Check out the video to see the steps from the start!

I am using two of my favorite stamp sets from Inspired By Stamping. For the circles, I used Polk Dots Stamp Set and couple of templates I created using circle dies and window sheets. Bigger sized circles will add nice interest to the card so I created couple templates of my own – great way to get more use out of your dies!

To stretch the ink pad colors, I used 2nd generation stamping to create different shades. This way you can get a very different look with just couple of ink pads. Great way to stretch your inks!

I kept the sentiment pretty simple and clean since we have a nice background with lots of colors. If you haven’t tried this technique, this is a must try one!

IBS has generously offered a special discount code for my readers. Use the code “IBSMAY2015” to get $5 off on your order of $25 or more! Code is valid from 5/29/15 to 6/27/15

  1. I love the simplicity of this card and the bokeh technique, which I must try! Also I noticed in the title that you mentioned a ‘discount code’ but I couldn’t work out where it was or what it was for?

  2. Nicole, I really admire your talent and look forward to your videos! How do you clean your photopolymer stamps?
    Thank you so much:)
