Hello and welcome to a very special blog hop for The Ton! We are celebrating the anniversary of The Ton with a special release and a very special blog hop.I am so glad you stopped by to spend some time with me – if you came from Emily’s blog, you are on the right track! If you are just starting with me, no worries – you can still hop along with us and make a full circle.
I prepared two projects to share with you today, along with a step-by-step video tutorial. Both cards were made using the stamp stamp set called Fresh Cut Roses with couple of brand-new stamps. I also used masking technique to create both cards and you can see how these two cards look by using the same stamp set and technique. Check out the fun video tutorial below to see how I created these two cards.
For this card above, I used some of Distress Inks and blended the colors with a watercolor brush. You can use any water-based inks or markers you have to create this look. I used Distress Watercolor Cardstock for this project – the paper does not handle well too much water so I made sure not to add too much water to blend colors. If you want to work with many color layers and a lot of water, make sure to use a different watercolor paper.
Second card is something that has a completely different look – but I really love how it turned out! This card uses the same Fresh Cut Roses stamp set as a focal point, along with the Haute Wedding Dress stamp set. I wanted to use the dress in a different way than it was intended. Something fashionable and something bold. So I decided to use the roses as a part of the dress pattern. Wedding dress becomes a spring dress! What do you think?
I used couple of Altenew’s crisp ink pads to layer the beautiful rose images. Blue is my favorite color so I decided to use them for the roses. Using the same masking technique, I covered the outside of the dress image and stamped the rose layers. Very easy to do!
For the sentiment, I used the greeting from the Timeless Iconic Sentiment stamp set. This set is full of cool sentiments and go really well with the rest of The Ton’s stamp line. I simply stamped the greeting with Versamark on a black cardstock and heat set it with Bright White embossing powder from WOW.
So there you have it! Two completely different cards using the same stamp set and technique. Did you enjoy the cards and the video tutorial? I sure hope you did. Don’t forget to check out the full supplies list, giveaway details, and a full blog hop list. Next up in the blog hop is a great watercolor artist, Mayline Jung. Thanks for stopping by!
