Happy Monday (almost Tuesday), everyone! This is a quite late post, I was so caught up with watching Downton Abbey and didn’t know it was this late!! Do you watch Downton Abbey? My and my husband just started watching it (yesterday) and we are almost half way through season 2. It is so addicting!!
Anyhow, let’s get to today’s project, shall we? I have been playing and experimenting a lot with Distress Inks, and instead of usual “blend colors and spray water” technique I decided to use water on stamps. So here I used Festive Berries, Barn Door, and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks on the cardbase and blend them together using the Mini Blending Tool. I am in LOVE with these tools, they are much easier to blend colors than the older version one and leave almost no streaks on projects. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves Distress Inks, but especially to those who are just starting with those ink pads.
So after blending the colors on the cardbase, I took out this stripe patterned stamp set from Stripes, Dots, Hearts 2″ Stamp Set by Unity Stamp Set. These are designed by Ann Butler and so unique because they are border-less stamp sets! You can easily create continuing patterns on cards and layouts with a very minimal effort. So to create this fun watermark effect, I sprayed water right onto the stamp lightly and them stamped it right onto the cardstock. Don’t forget to watch the video below to see these results come to life and you will be able to understand it better as well!
I created another version doing the same technique and made a different colored birthday card:
Aren’t these just pretty? For this card, I used dotted stamp from the same stamp set by Ann Butler. I think I am liking the 2nd card better, what do you think? Colors used are Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, and Seedless Preserves. Sentiments are both from the Cake & Candles Stamp Set by Avery Elle. I stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black Ink for rich and bold effect. I just love how dark it stamps on projects. Also, I added couple of clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to dress it up.
Hope you enjoyed the video and the cards! I will be back with another video to share soon. Have a great night!!
