Happy Thursday! Today I am sharing a card that features an awesome stamp set by Inspired By Stamping. I created this card to showcase the wonderful, detailed flower image from the Sweet Pea Stamp, which was a part of March 2014 new release. Not really a super big fan of flourish pattern myself, but I seem to reach this set quite often! Let’s check out the video so you can see how I created this fun card.
I wanted to play with a few of Distress Paints for the background. I wanted a more rich, bold colors than my usual water-color effect using the Distress Ink Pads, but since I was using lots of pink shades it ended up being a bit softer than I wanted it to be. Making sure that the embossed flower image to show was my goal so I didn’t want to cover it too think with paints. You can see the colors I used in the supplies list, so don’t forget to scroll down!
In this close-up picture, you can see the blended shades of pinks. Distress Paints will cover your cardstock layer and give you an opaque finished look. So if you want the colors to blend really well, make sure to spray a plenty amount of water before drying. Once you dry the paints, you won’t be able to go back and reactive the paints like you can with other distress products. So practice, practice, experiment, and experiment!
I think one of the main reason I keep reaching for this set is because of this great sentiment. I love the fonts and the elegant feel of it. It is perfect with the images from the same set or you can mix and match with other sets on hand. Versafine Onyx Black ink is my current go-to ink for creating a rich, sharp stamping result. It is a pigment ink, don’t forget to let it dry a bit when you use it on your projects.
Sweet Pea Stamp Set can be used on multiple occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, thank you, miss you, get well, etc – such a great stamp set to have on hand. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have an awesome day!!
