Miss Your Face Card – OWH & Die-Versions Joint Blog Hop!

March 7, 2014

OWH Die-Versions Bloghop

Happy Friday and thank you for hopping along with us! This is a special joint blog hop by Operation Write Home and Die-Versions. If you are just starting, make sure to visit the starting point of the hop so you won’t miss a thing! If you are hopping along in the order, you probably came from Julie’s Blog at Handmade By Julie.

I am honored to be a part of this blog hop, because I think what OWH does is just amazing! If you are not familiar with OWH, their mission is to support our armed forces by sending blank handmade cards to write home on. Find more information here. If you want to send a card, please follow their guidelines.

Die-versions is releasing new set of wonderful dies today! And I am going to share a project I created using one of the dies. You can see the whole collection of March releases here.

DSCN7920

I wanted to create something simple yet delivers a clear message. Miss Your Face Die from Die-Versions is perfect for such a card. To eliminate any hazard situations and to follow OWH’s guidelines, I decided to keep the card one layer and add couple dimensions on the focal point area. I used a diagonal stripe stamp to create a soft background and added different colors each time. Don’t you think these colors just melt your heart?

DSCN7921

The pictures don’t do the justice, but after I cut out the cardstock with the Miss Your Face Die, I embossed it twice with a clear embossing powder to give a fun wet look. I thought it would be cool to pop out the main point with some different texture. As a finishing touch, I added couple of enamel dots to match the rest of the color scheme which help out the die cut piece to stand out even more.

Take a note of the die cut piece one more time – you will see this cool stitched lines around the whole die cut piece. This adds a really nice detail to any project. A lot of dies from the March release have those cool stitched lines, so make sure to check them out.

Thank you so much for spending some time with me today, and I hope you enjoyed my card! Make sure to head over to the last stop of the hop over at Die-Versions Blog. Have a great weekend guys!!

Happy Holidays and for those who are celebrating, Merry Christmas- Many of us are spending today in an unusual way this year, and many of us are also remembering those we lost. I ask that you keep others in your thoughts this holiday season 💕 sending hugs and loves to your way ❤️❤️

Made cookies and cheesecake brownies for our next door neighbors who are spending today alone. I added a little touch with stamps and inks to dress up the cookie boxes 🎁

Happy view 🥰🥰 New ink storage system for my office/studio desk. I wanted the most used inks right at my fingertips and these Alex drawers hold them perfectly. Good morning and happy Saturday lovlies!! 👋🏻👋🏻 I just realized my last post about 3-4 months ago was a glance at my studio. Lots of things happened in the past few months and Ive been just too stressed out that I lost my desire to craft. 😣Its been a rough yr for everyone and Im ready for a new start! 😍 Are you?? Im going to start working towards getting some routines where I can feel better and add creativity back to life. Why wait till Jan? We can start now 💕

I just moved and finally got around to finishing up my studio. Im such a perfectionist that it took me a while to get everything where I wanted. 😅 Im happy how it turned out and grateful that I can still have a place to work and craft. Im excited to share projects with you soon 🥰🥰🥰

Took a couple of days off this week to recharge - mental break helps a lot! 👍🏻 While I enjoyed stay-home break, I finished swatching all of #danielsmithwatercolors - now I’ll build my own palette from these and start doing some watercolor with them. Seeing all these made me really happy 🥰🥰 Swatching watercolors are one of my fav ways to distress. What creative projects are you working on this weekend?? #watercolorswatches #watercolor #danielsmithwatercolor #danielsmithartistsmaterials #colorswatches

Took a beginner calligraphy class by @piecescalligraphy and I cant believe how fast 90min went by!! 😍😍 I have a lot of practice to do but really enjoyed learning. These are some of the things we did. My p’s are pretty horrible 😂😂 Cant wait for the next session!

Happy Monday everyone- 💕💕 I was itching for a change so the other day I moved things around a bit in my studio. (This happens more often than not 😂) Even just a tiny bit of change can bring a big difference and give a fresh feel to your daily norm. Controlling what we can and not losing hope 🙏🏻 I wish you a fabulous and lovely week ahead 💙

More therapeutic watercoloring session - I find taking the time to color each image with watercolor really helps me to relax. I think it has to do with a slow moving, soft transition of the pigments and water.
