Happy Saturday! Today I have a cute sequins shaker card to share with you. Before we get into the details, what do you think of the photo style I tried out here? If you know me, you know that I always have been a “white background simple photo” girl. For some reason, I wanted to play with few different color backgrounds when taking pictures of today’s card. I think it is a nice change, do you agree with me? I am going to do few more and see how I like it. Do you think I should go with this new style or go back to my white background photos?
Alright, so let’s get to our card for today. I actually created this card for Top Dog Dies’ Blog, in honor of the Pretty Pink Posh blog hop that is happening TODAY. If you haven’t tried out sequins products from Pretty Pink Posh, that you are missing something awesome!! Make sure to check Paulina’s product line and grab few of those awesome sequins!! (Let her know Nicole Picadura sent ya :))
Sequins shaker cards are so in trend right now and they are pretty easy to make once you plan it out before you actually dig in to the project. The style I did here is probably the most basic and simple way to go about it. I did another sequins shaker card couple weeks ago, and you can check out the video tutorial here. You will be able to follow along easily.
To start with the project, cut out a regular A2 size card base, make sure it is a top folding card. You will need to decide how big you want the shaker window to be. I cut about 3×4 window of the pattern paper to be a top layer of the card to match the printed clear sheet to fit. I stamped the greeting right onto the card base layer, added few distress ink colors for a blended background.
You will need a 3D foam tape to go right underneath the edge of the cutout window so the sequins don’t fly around too much. You want them to say right where you want them and shake within the measured out area. I love using the 3D foam tape roll for this technique, it is so easy to secure them. I usually pour the sequins right on to of the card base, within where the window area would be, and adhere the top layer (that has the window sheet attached) right on top of the card base. Make sure to not add too much sequins otherwise you won’t be able to have them move around. For this card, I used the Spring Mix Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.
I took out couple of heart die cuts from the Camera Finishers Die Set and Hearts Mini Album Finishers Die Set by Top Dog Dies. And attached them right onto the corners of the top layer, added a touch of Wink of Stella Glitter Pen for an extra effect. It took me about 20 minutes to put this card together, which is super simple and fast! So there you have it! Quick and easy sequins shaker card using Top Dog Dies die sets and Pretty Pink Posh sequins!
Oh, please make sure to take my online class survey if you haven’t done so. I would greatly appreciate your input. It will help me tremendously as I am planning on online class series to share more tips and techniques with you. Have an awesome day! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!
