Hi guys! I created a project to share a fun way to maximize your dies. I adore this Heart Border Die from Top Dog Dies and was wondering what I could do with all those remaining adorable, small hearts from die cutting. If you are only using the border die cut piece, you will have bunch of these hanging around. Before throwing them out, whey not create a card so you can get 2 cards out of 1 die?
So I decided to take out couple of sequins and created a quick, easy shaker card. It has been a while since I made a shaker card and thought those fun hearts would make a perfect birthday card for my friend. I left rest of the card area pretty clean and simple because I wanted those small hearts to pop out. And since they are tiny, you can add lots of them on the shaker area of the card. I used a bright pink and soft blue patterned papers to cut out those hearts, and added small clear sequins and bigger sized pink and blue sequins. Size variation will add more depth to the card.
Here is another look at the card. This is what you will see after sharing the card for a bit – so much fun and colorful! I added a sentiment to match the blue sequins color and added a bit of shimmer using the Wink of Stella glitter pen. There are also couple of other dies you can use to create shaker cards – I recommend using Camera Finishers Die Set, Purse Card Finishers Die Set, and Butterfly Finishers Die Set. These are use a few alternatives to the Heart Border Die I used here.
Maximizing products on hand doesn’t have to be so hard and complicated. Try playing with them in different ways to see how you can get more bang for your buck! Thank you so much for stopping by today.
