**GIVEAWAY** Layered Stamping for Masculine Cards

November 13, 2018

Happy Tuesday! I have prepared a couple of masculine cards to share with you today, in celebration of a brand-new release by Altenew! There are so many wonderful products, you surely do not want to miss any of them. I also have giveaways, so please stay tuned till the end of the blog post!

Masculine cards seem to be a hard one to create for many of us, but they don’t have to be! All you need is a simplified way of bringing in those elements to your projects easily, for example choosing a design or colors.

Altenew just released a wonderful set of new stamps, dies, and wait for it – 16 awesome ink colors!! I am so loving these sets, they are the perfect addition to the current ink colors from Altenew. Three of these new 4 sets of the color families can be easily used for masculine cards. So I decided to use 2 of them on today’s projects.

I took the Wild Fern stamp set and created a quick background with multiple layers on it. This stamp set features fine lines that showcase the details of the ferns, and the brand new inks are just perfect for these images. Green Valley oval set is the color I chose for this card to be paired with the Wild Fern stamp set.

I wanted to offset the background with some metallic texture, so I chose the Antique Gold Metallic Shimmer Spray and splattered few times to get drops and added a different element to the card.

Since the background has lots of details, I decided to go with a simple yet bold sentiment on the project. The Super Script stamp and die are one of my favorite sets to reach out for when wanting this effect. I stamped it with Jet Black ink, and die cut the sentiment few times to stack on top of each other for a quick dimension. I also stamped a partial sentiment directly to the background panel for some variations.

For the second card, I went for a super classic and gentleman feel. I actually had my dad in mind when creating this, as his birthday is approaching quickly. I really really love the Gentleman’s Gray color set from this release – these are truly an awesome cool gray tones anyone MUST have on their ink collection!

I used the stamp set for the background, just chose a different fern. Since these are 3 layering images, I omitted the lightest color from the color family and went with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th color to layer these stamps. The first card also had only three colors from the Green Valley set.

For metallic splatter, I chose the Antique Silver Metallic Shimmer for a tone-to-tone effect. For the greeting, I used Desert Night ink pad and did the same dimensional sentiment technique as I did on the first card above. It just pops out the sentiment so nicely while keeping the whole card simple and clean.

I hope you enjoyed both of these cards! Which one do you prefer out of these two? Also, what are some of your favorite items from this release? Favorite color family?? Comment below and share your picks with me, id LOVE to know your choices! (You will also be automatically entered into a giveaway!)

I can see so many uses for the ferns as backgrounds or as just a single leaf or even a few in clear or shining embossing with some other embellishment. Thanks for the inspiration….Cannot wait to get some of the new release!

Good morning and happy Saturday lovlies!! 👋🏻👋🏻 I just realized my last post about 3-4 months ago was a glance at my studio. Lots of things happened in the past few months and Ive been just too stressed out that I lost my desire to craft. 😣Its been a rough yr for everyone and Im ready for a new start! 😍 Are you?? Im going to start working towards getting some routines where I can feel better and add creativity back to life. Why wait till Jan? We can start now 💕

I just moved and finally got around to finishing up my studio. Im such a perfectionist that it took me a while to get everything where I wanted. 😅 Im happy how it turned out and grateful that I can still have a place to work and craft. Im excited to share projects with you soon 🥰🥰🥰

Took a couple of days off this week to recharge - mental break helps a lot! 👍🏻 While I enjoyed stay-home break, I finished swatching all of #danielsmithwatercolors - now I’ll build my own palette from these and start doing some watercolor with them. Seeing all these made me really happy 🥰🥰 Swatching watercolors are one of my fav ways to distress. I decided to do something new and challenging during this #stayathome time. Took a beginner calligraphy class by @piecescalligraphy and I cant believe how fast 90min went by!! 😍😍 I have a lot of practice to do but really enjoyed learning. These are some of the things we did. My p’s are pretty horrible 😂😂 Cant wait for the next session!

Happy Monday everyone- 💕💕 I was itching for a change so the other day I moved things around a bit in my studio. (This happens more often than not 😂) Even just a tiny bit of change can bring a big difference and give a fresh feel to your daily norm. Controlling what we can and not losing hope 🙏🏻 I wish you a fabulous and lovely week ahead 💙

More therapeutic watercoloring session - I find taking the time to color each image with watercolor really helps me to relax. I think it has to do with a slow moving, soft transition of the pigments and water.
