Hello! Today I am sharing a fun Christmas shaker card you can create in just few minutes. Shaker card has been really popular among cardmakers and there are lots of different ways to create it. I am going to show you couple of easy steps with lots of tips so you can WOW any card recipients.
I wanted to create a cool night sky background with lots of stars, so I used couple of pigment ink pads along with a stencil. I chose the Falling Star Stencil from Simon Says Stamp – if you do not have this, you can use any background stencils you have or any background stamps with stars. I inked it up with Versamark ink pad and heat set it using WOW! Embossing Powder Opaque White. To create a night sky background, I chose Mama Elephant’s Dark Storm, Pucific Blue, and Stargazer Pigment Ink Pads. Using Mini Blending Tool, I added those three colors to create lots of shades onto our background layer.
For the shaker window part of the card, I stamped a cool tree sentiment stamp from the Holiday Sentiments Stamp Set from Inspired by Stamping. I love how it shows through the shaker window nicely. I added few different kinds of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for the shaker card window area. Make sure to watch the video above to see how I created this card with few easy tips!
Shaker card can be fun for both cardmakers and card recipients. Will you be making a Christmas shaker card for your loved ones this holiday?
