Hello there! Today is going to be a fun, inspiration filled day for you since various designers are coming together to celebrate Altenew’s 2nd birthday!
I am so happy to be a part of this special celebration and hope you enjoy the 3-day long blog hop along with great prizes and offers. (If you are just starting with me, no worries, you can make a full hop circle by going through the full blog hop list at the bottom of this post.)
Today’s video tutorial contains 2 projects that will WOW your card recipients and you get to have a lot of fun creating them as well! Since Peony Bouquet was released in January, a lot of people emailed me asking what would be the easiest way to line these floral images to create realistic looking peonies. So, today’s tutorial shows just that! You can also download the layering guide from Altenew to get some visual help.
In the video tutorial below, you will be able to see how to line each image up to complete the flowers and which inks to use as color combinations. I try to make it as simple as I can so hopefully you can find this tutorial helpful!
Big peony petals add great dimensions and colors to cards – especially when they are cut so precisely with the coordinating Peony Bouquet Die. I stamped bunch of these flowers and cut them out using the die, and attached them on the card with foam tapes to create dimensional background.
Since I love this technique so much, I decided to create a 2nd card using the same stamp set but chose a different flower and ink combination. Don’t you just love this bright yellow flowers that shout spring to us?
For this color, I used Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink for outline image and couple greens for the leaves, and yellow/brown colors for the flower petals. This image is fairly easy to line up compare to the first card I created.
So there you go – 2 great dimensional cards with beautiful images from Peony Bouquet stamp set. Did you enjoy the tutorial? Certain hope so!
